The approval, formalized through AEMO\u2019s <strong data-start=\"676\" data-end=\"700\">Clause 5.3.4A letter<\/strong>, confirms performance standards and system strength assessment, allowing the project to proceed to construction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"1039\">\u201cThis is one of our largest hybrid developments to date and reflects our long-term commitment to delivering clean, stable and scalable renewable energy solutions,\u201d said <strong data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"999\">Tim Averill<\/strong>, Managing Director at <strong data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1038\">Elgin Energy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1242\">The facility will feature approximately <strong data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1109\">230,000 solar PV modules<\/strong> and will deploy the <strong data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1164\">SMA Hybrid Power Plant Manager<\/strong> system, supported by <strong data-start=\"1186\" data-end=\"1241\">Sunny Central PV and grid-forming storage inverters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1244\" data-end=\"1517\">According to <strong data-start=\"1257\" data-end=\"1275\">John Alexander<\/strong>, Vice President of Large-Scale Projects at <strong data-start=\"1319\" data-end=\"1336\">SMA Australia<\/strong>, the system will provide \u201ccritical network services for a secure and resilient energy future,\u201d including synthetic inertia, fast frequency response, and system strength mitigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1519\" data-end=\"1608\">Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with commercial operations targeted for 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1903\">This follows Elgin\u2019s recent success with the larger <strong data-start=\"1662\" data-end=\"1689\">330MW Barwon Solar Farm<\/strong>, fast-tracked by the Victorian Government earlier this year.
