The planned investments total <strong data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"644\">$14 billion USD<\/strong>, aimed at supporting Morocco\u2019s clean energy transition and long-term water security.<\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"1247\">The agreements were formalized through <strong data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"807\">Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)<\/strong> with the <strong data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"880\">Office National de l&#8217;\u00c9lectricit\u00e9 et de l&#8217;Eau Potable (ONEE)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"882\" data-end=\"892\">Nareva<\/strong> (a subsidiary of <strong data-start=\"910\" data-end=\"927\">Al Mada Group<\/strong>), and the <strong data-start=\"938\" data-end=\"969\">Mohammed VI Investment Fund<\/strong>. The collaboration includes the development of <strong data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1049\">seawater desalination plants<\/strong> with a combined daily capacity of <strong data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1112\">2.5 million cubic meters<\/strong>, powered by sustainable energy sources, and a water transmission network capable of transporting <strong data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1246\">2.2 million cubic meters per day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1626\">The project also involves the acquisition of the existing <strong data-start=\"1307\" data-end=\"1351\">400 MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT)<\/strong> power plant in <strong data-start=\"1367\" data-end=\"1380\">Tahaddart<\/strong>, northern Morocco, and plans to build an additional <strong data-start=\"1433\" data-end=\"1469\">1,100 MW of gas-fired generation<\/strong>. Infrastructure plans further include a <strong data-start=\"1510\" data-end=\"1557\">3,000 MW high-voltage direct current (HVDC)<\/strong> transmission corridor and <strong data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1625\">1,200 MW of renewable energy capacity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1945\"><strong data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1647\">Farid Al Awlaqi<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1697\">Chairman of TAQA Morocco\u2019s Supervisory Board<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1702\" data-end=\"1736\">TAQA Group\u2019s CEO of Generation<\/strong>, said the agreement aligns with TAQA\u2019s 2030 growth strategy and underlines their commitment to low-carbon development.
