COLUMBIA, MO – May 13, 2025 – Schneider Electric has begun construction on a major expansion of its manufacturing facility in Columbia, Missouri, a move expected to create more than 200 new jobs. The 58,000-square-foot addition was launched during a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe and other local officials.

The project is part of Schneider Electric’s broader U.S. investment strategy announced earlier this year, aimed at supporting national energy infrastructure and data center development. The Columbia expansion will increase production capacity for molded case and air circuit breakers while improving operational efficiency and supply chain resilience.

“The U.S. is experiencing growing demand needed to power AI and energy infrastructure,” said Agustin Lopez Diaz, Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain North America at Schneider Electric. “This expansion reflects our commitment to meeting that demand.”

Governor Mike Kehoe welcomed the investment, citing Missouri’s strong business climate and the company's long-standing contributions to the region.

The Columbia site is one of several locations benefiting from what Schneider Electric describes as the largest single capital investment in its 135+ year U.S. history. The company employs over 21,000 people nationwide and serves clients across sectors including data infrastructure, healthcare, and utilities.
