Astor Energy Enters Romania with 279 MW Solar Deal

23 May 2025
Astor Energy has announced its entry into the European renewable energy sector with the acquisition of three Romanian companies holding a combined 279 megawatts (MW) of solar power capacity. The deals were signed via Astor RO Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary established in April 2025 to manage international investments.

In a disclosure to the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Astor Energy confirmed the signing of three separate agreements on May 20, 2025, to acquire 100% of the shares in the Romanian firms. The acquisitions mark the company’s first major move outside Türkiye and align with its strategy to expand renewable operations across Europe.

Legal and regulatory procedures for the share transfers are still in progress, according to the company. The newly formed Astor RO Energy S.R.L. will oversee all renewable energy activities in Romania and support future international growth.

This move positions Astor Energy among a growing group of Turkish firms investing in European energy infrastructure amid the global shift to clean power.
