President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has signed an order approving a USD 2 million humanitarian aid package for Ukraine, sourced from the President’s Reserve Fund as part of the 2025 state budget. The funds will be directed to the Ministry of Energy to procure and deliver Azerbaijani-made electrical equipment to assist Ukraine amid ongoing conflict.

This latest aid follows previous shipments, including one in February 2025 where Azerbaijan sent electrical cables, wires, transformers, and generators to help stabilize power supply in war-affected Ukrainian regions.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Azerbaijan has contributed over USD 42 million in humanitarian and reconstruction support. Projects have included the renovation of critical infrastructure in Irpin, a town near Kyiv that experienced intense fighting in 2022, with investments in healthcare, education, and cultural facilities.

Olena Kondratiuk, Deputy of Ukraine’s Rada, expressed gratitude toward Azerbaijan for its ongoing humanitarian assistance.

Azerbaijan’s aid has also included rehabilitation programs for Ukrainian children, with more than 230 children welcomed in Baku to date.

The country’s continued support underscores its commitment to Ukraine’s recovery through bilateral and multilateral humanitarian efforts.
